I reach my conclusion by removing the top three leading causes of death, which are ‘disease of heart’, ‘malignant neoplasms’, and ‘influenza and pneumonia’ (they are always the most significant cause of death in NYC over the 5 years and at same time they are incompatible factors, in terms of causing huge number of deaths in the population). Then, I combine the rest factors that namely related to mental health problem by count. The factors I treat as ‘ mental health’ reasons are  ‘psych. substance use & accidental drug poisoning’, ‘assault (homicide), ‘mental disorders due to use of alcohol’, ‘Parkinsons disease’, and ‘intentional self-harm (suicide)’. I want to make an explain that ‘accidental drug poisoning’ should not be part of the mental health factor that can attribute to death, however, I just have no clue how to separate them from the ‘psych. substance use’, although I know this might greatly affect my research result.  Also, there is a disease named ‘Alzheimers disease’ appears among the cause list, it’s a progressive neurodegenerative disease that can trigger mental illness but would not cause death directly, so I do not include it in the group.
